New Podcast: God’s Way or The Way of Pride?

As we are undeniably in the last days, are we being cautious of pride or unknowingly taking part?  There are several ways that pride reveals itself.  On this episode of the Innocence Redeemed podcast I will be sharing a dream-vision I had and relating it to choosing to go your own way or God’s way.  Will we follow in God’s way or the way of pride?   I hope to shine light on that and illustrate how and why the different elements of pride are so destructive to our walk with Jesus and how having a haughty actually separates us from Him.  It is my prayer that this episode is a Blessing to you.

Matthew 16:25-26 (NKJV)

25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Psalm 23:4 (NKJV)

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

Psalm 18:30 (NKJV)

30 As for God, His way is perfect;
The word of the Lord is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

Exodus 14:13-14 (NKJV)

13 And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. 14 The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

Matthew 7:13-14 (NKJV)

13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Ecclesiastes 10:3 (NKJV)

3 Even when a fool walks along the way, He lacks wisdom, And he shows everyone that he is a fool.

Psalm 36:2-3 (NKJV)

For he flatters himself in his own eyes,
When he finds out his iniquity and when he hates.
The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit;
He has ceased to be wise and to do good.

Proverbs 8:13 (NKJV)

13 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way
And the perverse {froward} mouth I hate.

Psalm 51:17 (NKJV)

17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise.

Matthew 23:12 (NKJV)

12 And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

1 Peter 5:5-7 (NKJV)

5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Colossians 3:12-17 (NKJV)

12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Psalm 138:6 (NKJV)

6 Though the LORD is on high, Yet He regards the lowly; But the proud He knows from afar.

James 4:6-10 (AMP)

But He gives us more and more grace [through the power of the Holy Spirit to defy sin and live an obedient life that reflects both our faith and our gratitude for our salvation]. Therefore, it says, “God is opposed to the proud and haughty, but [continually] gives [the gift of] grace to the humble [who turn away from self-righteousness].” So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you. Come close to God [with a contrite heart] and He will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; and purify your [unfaithful] hearts, you double-minded [people]. Be miserable and grieve and weep [over your sin]. Let your [foolish] laughter be turned to mourning and your [reckless] joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves [with an attitude of repentance and insignificance] in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you [He will lift you up, He will give you purpose].

Isaiah 5:21 (NKJV)

21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight!

2 Timothy 3:8-9 (NKJV)

Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was.

  1. Yes, we all really need to hear this (again and again). Thank you Ray, for this follow up to the last one (Faith in God or Faith in Idols?) – for constantly reiterating the things you have been speaking over and over about apathy, idolatry, pride, repentance, and more. I pray, everything pointed out here, sink deep in the recesses of our heart, mind, soul, and spirit. And cause us to apply daily in our lives, what the Word says regarding the issues addressed.

  2. And also, thank you kindly for including in your posts, the verses mentioned and in reference to every podcast episode. I really appreciate all the hard work that goes into that and producing (research, interviews and all) the podcasts and everything else here.
